Post your insights and observations here after you do your homework this week! NOTES: 1) I have included the handouts for the hand positions. They are jpeg format, so if it's possible to blow them up in your browser, that would be awesome! 2) The hand positions I have included above is the traditional sequence. A usual session typically lasts 1-1.5 hours or if you are doing a chair session it may be a little less. When you are first learning this, I would recommend you practice doing the hand positions in sequential order until they become second nature. Then, once you have memorized them, let your intuition take over and may be guided to move around in different places, but the position of the hands is always the same. Mwah! ![]()

When you put your hands together side by side do you touch right and left hand fingers together if yes which fingers? When working on feet if somebody has something on their feet do you use gloves or what?

If you are tired is it best not to do Angel Reiki on a person?

This question might have been asked. I still have a question when doing Archangel Raphael mudra on a person. You start at the forehead with your palms facing their forehead. My question is when you go to the heart do you turn your palms over facing you? . Does it make a difference if all your fingers not your thumbs are facing down when at the heart or do you just keep all your fingers facing up not your thumbs at the heart?

It is ok if the hands touch. It will not harm the energy. Just remember on each hand to keep your fingers "in" :)

There is a video in Week 4 about Chair Sessions-stay tuned! Basically it is the same, just with some obvious places where you need to modify for comfort.

I just realised something. I had learnt Usui Reiki before hands-on but I remember we would have had to ask the client if it was okay to use the hands directly on their body. Lately, I have been practising Reiki hands-off but perhaps it wasn't Reiki I was doing :). Just wondering if hands-on is the traditional Reiki way?

Hi Sylvia! The chakras will get balanced naturally as you work on a client remotely or in person. Great question! If you want to, one suggestion is to use Reiki music in the background to enhance the balancing. And you can also invite them to add "balance my chakras" to their intention. Does that make sense?
